A Shopify metafield is a typed custom data field attached to a Shopify resource such as a product, variant, or collection. Merchants use metafields for information that does not fit Shopify's standard fields, including materials, care instructions, specifications, certifications, and release dates.

A metafield adds a typed value to a Shopify resource. A metaobject is a reusable structured content record with its own set of fields, such as a size guide or designer profile. Peak PIM manages both, but each has its own definition and publishing workflow.

Peak PIM supports single-line and multi-line text, integers, decimals, booleans, dates, JSON, URLs, colors, dimensions, weights, and list variants, with type-aware controls and relevant validation.

Yes. Peak PIM manages one account-level definition with per-store presence. Select all connected stores or a subset, keep the definition linked, and publish it natively to each target Shopify store.

Yes. Value-based metafields can be edited in the bulk grid, mapped from CSV or Excel files, and included in exports. Reference-type metafields are edited with the appropriate picker on entity pages but are not currently import-mappable.

Yes. Translatable metafields can be managed beside localized product and collection content. Health Center can include required metafields in completeness checks and flag definition coverage or structure differences between stores.
